O GRRM έχει απαντήσει σε ερώτηση για το υλικό από το οποίο είναι φτιαγμένα τα σπαθιά των Άλλων ως εξής:

Επίσης, ο Tormund έχει πει: \'\'They won’t come out by day, not when that old sun’s shining, but don’t think that means they went away.\'\'
Eίναι ασφαλές να πούμε οτι η θερμότητα, είτε προέρχεται από τον ήλιο είτε προέρχεται από τη φωτιά, δεν τους αρέσει...
